what “Y-in Fashion” is all about

“Y-in Fashion” is a fashion design competition where participants of all ages compete as a team to create the most innovative and brilliant garments. Team Participants are encouraged to display their creativity in fashion design and in support of the green movement, They will also need to include elements of recycled paper, metals and plastics in their designs.

Registration

Interested applicants can apply by directly downloading the form in this site. Closing Date for this event is 15th November 2009.

Registration is Free.

The Categories

Participants will have to form a team of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 per group.

Theme and Format

Wearable Recyclables. All teams will be given a white Tee to work on. We will only provide limited recyclables. They will have to bring their own. They will be given an hour to come out with their masterpiece which will be don by a Team-member.

the HOW and the WHY

The YOUths of South East District Community Centre/Club (CC) Youth Executive Committees (YECs) mooted “Y-in Fashion” as a mean to unleash the brimming energy and overflowing wild and creative ideas within YOUths.

“Y-in Fashion” stands for (1) YOUths in Fashion; and (2) Why are we in Fashion.

Fashion is, unanimously agreed, no longer just clothes but a loud statement of ones’ style, social standing, etiquette, attitude and lifestyle. Fashion is iconic and an integral part of a YOUths’ life.
